An American general tool brand, not a thermal specialist. Klein Tools is known for its pliers and electrician's screwdrivers; the TI290 is a recent diversification into instrumentation, unlike the ten other brands in this comparison that specialize in thermography.

Two advertised resolutions depending on the source, with neither ever confirmed as the sensor's. Klein Tools' own listing and Amazon both mention "over 76,800 pixels", while several independent retailers and some pages from the same manufacturer advertise "over 49,000 pixels" for the same product. 76,800 corresponds to a 320 × 240 sensor, 49,152 to a 256 × 192 sensor. That's a difference in kind, not rounding, and a buyer cannot tell which is real from retailer listings alone. A third-party datasheet cites a 480 × 320 screen, which suggests the native sensor is 320 × 240 and that the 49,000 figure may stem from confusion with an earlier model or a production variant. Value used here out of caution: 320 × 240, to be confirmed.

    Observations

    • NO NETD VALUE PUBLISHED ANYWHERE, in any of the sources consulted, even though it's the first figure a thermographer looks for.
    • Continuously adjustable emissivity, from 0.01 to 0.99.
    • A 9 Hz frame rate, consistent with export restrictions, though not explicitly mentioned by the manufacturer unlike FLIR and Fluke.
    • Neither weight, nor dimensions, nor IP rating, nor field of view are published.
