Observations
THE SIXTH OBSERVATION DEVICE IN THIS COMPARISON, AND THE FIRST HIKVISION MODEL — the parent company of HIKMICRO: the two brands from the same group therefore end up on opposite sides of the measurement/observation divide in this catalog, HIKMICRO for instrumentation and Hikvision for video surveillance and night-vision optics.
An extremely narrow 7.4° × 5.6° field of view with a 50 mm lens, the tightest in the entire comparison, consistent with very long-range identification rather than scanning.
An IFOV of 0.34 mrad, the best spatial resolution in the entire database across every category, including among measuring instruments — though not applicable here since the device measures no temperature at all.
MIL-STD-810F certified, a military shock- and vibration-resistance standard rarely mentioned elsewhere in this comparison.
Excluded from this site's scoring system for the same reason as the five other observation devices already mentioned.
