Observations
Geometrically suspect field of view, a pattern already seen on the FLIR TG165-X. The datasheet lists 51° horizontal and 66° vertical, i.e. a field taller than it is wide on an 80 × 60 sensor that is nonetheless in landscape format. As with the TG165-X, the two values are likely swapped in the distributor's documentation.
The lowest resolution in the catalog after the Chauvin Arnoux C.A 1950 and the PerfectPrime IR0280. 80 × 60, i.e. 4,800 measurement points, identical to the FLIR ONE Pro LT already covered.
ADVERTISED ACCURACY OF ±1°C, BETTER THAN ALMOST THE ENTIRE CATALOG despite this very low resolution: the accuracy of a single-point reading and the spatial resolution of the image are two independent qualities, and this device illustrates that clearly.
Extech belongs to the same group (Teledyne FLIR) as the FLIR brand, already extensively covered in this comparison, though the two ranges do not overlap on the models documented here.
